I had difficulty acting adult during the 2013 Holiday rush. Cuddled cozy in a cotton-candy pink coat, with Alice + Olivia-esque braids crowning my cranium, Barbie dolls seemed a more suiting top of my Christmas list than the Fossil laptop case I'd been eyeing earlier. So, maybe it's fitting fashion is tapping into the "mommy- handbook", and pulling a reverse psychology on us all. Metallic material, normally exclusive for the Holiday season, is shining through the winter-white knits of the fall. It can cause a bit of a styling crisis, Do these sparkles clash with my sunburn?
As in life, don't try to grow up too fast. Infuse your youthful pastels, florals, ruffles, and lace with pops of metal. Budget your shine to one piece of clothing and one accessory to keep with the lightness of spring. For what better way to welcome summer, than to steal inspiration from the glorious sunshine?
